Miami Heat Receive: F Tobias Harris, G/F Matisse Thybulle
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G Kyle Lowry, F P.J. Tucker, G/F Duncan Robinson
This deal has each side making a dramatic overhaul to their team. With that said, it could make each better.
For the Miami Heat, they’re probably landing the best player in this deal in Tobias Harris. Granted, they’ll be downgrading on defense from Tucker. Still, Harris is a more reliable floor spacer and self-creator. He’ll vary their offensive attack. Meanwhile, they still land Thybulle to make up for Tucker’s defensive efforts.
Meanwhile, the Sixers finally land hometown kid Kyle Lowry. While his production wained significantly in the postseason this year, they’ll be hoping that was more due to his hamstring injury than his advanced age. Either way, Tucker and Robinson are valuable rotation players as well.
In some ways, this is a lateral move for both sides. Each is receiving contracts that are generally viewed as less than desirable in this exchange.

Still, if either likes the way their roster looks after making this deal, it wouldn’t come as a shock. If both teams do, we may have ourselves a blockbuster this summer.
