Los Angeles Lakers Receive: F Harrison Barnes, C Richaun Holmes, 2022 First-Round Pick (No. 4 – SAC)
Sacramento Kings Receive: F/C Anthony Davis
With the Sacramento Kings facing that previously mentioned playoff drought, many suspect that they’ll look to move their fourth overall pick in the upcoming draft in exchange for an impact player. We have a feeling they’d settle for Anthony Davis.
At the same time, he doesn’t guarantee much of anything. Again, injuries have haunted Davis over the last two seasons. Furthermore, his fit alongside Domantas Sabonis is questionable. It would give the King some of the worst frontcourt spacing in the entire league.
That feels like a contender’s problem. The Kings are mere playoff hopefuls. The combined talent of Davis, Sabonis, and De’Aaron Fox ought to be enough to guarantee them an appearance in the postseason.
At the same time, the Lakers may decline either of the deal we’ve suggested so far. The first was lacking a premium asset. This one provides the wrong one.

They’ll be playoff hopefuls in 2022-23 as well: why are they interested in the fourth overall pick? If they’re not, these two sides will be forced to look for a third team who is.
