3 Offseason Targets For Hawks To Find Secondary Playmaker

Atlanta Hawks, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The 2021-22 NBA season didn’t go according to plan for the Atlanta Hawks. After advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2021 NBA Postseason, Atlanta thought it would be best to run things back with the same roster. That proved to be the wrong decision.

The Hawks didn’t come close to replicating the success that they had the previous season. They had to defeat the Charlotte Hornets and Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Play-In Tournament just to qualify for the playoff field. They didn’t last too long, as the No. 1 seeded Miami Heat defeated them in five games.

This offseason, they are not going to run things back. Atlanta is going to shake the roster up and put the team in a better position to succeed next season.

According to reports, Trae Young and De’Andre Hunter are the only untouchable players on the roster.

Atlanta should be looking for players that can help turn things around on defense, as that has been their biggest weakness the last few seasons. They could also be in the market for a player to help take some pressure off of Young when it comes to running the offense.

Could they accomplish both in one move? Here are three offseason targets for the Hawks in 2022 that would fill their need for a secondary playmaker.
