Toronto Raptors Receive: F Lauri Markannen, G/F Isaac Okoro, F Cedi Osman, 2022 First-Round Pick (No. 14 – CLE), 2025 First-Round Pick (CLE)
Cleveland Cavaliers Receive: F/C Pascal Siakam
With this deal, the Toronto Raptors take back lower-quality players in exchange for two first-round picks. Just don’t mistake “lower-quality” for “low-quality”.
For starters, the Raps still get their big man. This time, it’s Lauri Markkannen. He’s not nearly as strong of a defender as Allen, but he does provide them with the added bonus of floor-spacing.
Meanwhile, Okoro is a nice fit on this team as well. He’s a versatile, aggressive defensive player. His three-pointer is inconsistent, but he can knock them down. If he finds a more consistent stroke, he could be one of the better 3-and-D wings in the league.
Still, this deal is mostly about the picks for the Raptors. They’d be moving Siakam because he overlaps with reigning Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes, and they’re preparing to gear up for a future built around them.
