New York Knicks Receive: G Lonzo Ball, G Coby White
Chicago Bulls Receive: F Julius Randle, 2023 First-Round Pick (DAL)

The New York Knicks could use, among other things, a point guard. How about two?

Coby White’s career has failed to launch so far, but it’s easy to forget that he’s still just 22. As a 6’5 point guard with strong scoring abilities, he could still be an impactful player in this league if he hits his ceiling.

On the other hand, if Lonzo Ball has already hit his, that’s fine. He’s a superb 3-and-D guard with remarkable floor vision to make plays in halfcourt sets. He’s likely to be a Tom Thibodeau favorite for his fundamentally sound point-of-attack defense.

Again, the Bulls will only be interested here if they think they can resuscitate Randle. If they can get the 2020-21 version, this is a steal. They’re getting the best player in the trade and a draft pick. That’s a deal you take every time it’s offered to you.
