The Miami Heat fell just short of competing in the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. They were defeated by the Boston Celtics in seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals and will now get started on their offseason work to try and get the team over the hump next season.
A majority of the team’s core should be back next season. You can never count the Heat out when it comes to acquiring a star player, as Pat Riley will do anything to ensure the team is put in the best position to succeed.
But, this roster doesn’t need an overhaul, it just needs a few tweaks here and there. The most likely route is that they run things back but with a couple of different complementary pieces. Getting Kyle Lowry healthy, which is something Riley recently discussed, would certainly help as well.
Had Lowry been healthy throughout the postseason, things could have gone differently for the Heat. On the lookout for an offensive upgrade, could the Heat turn to the Houston Rockets as a trade partner?
