Sacramento Kings Receive: C/F Bobby Portis, G Grayson Allen G, George Hill
Milwaukee Bucks Receive: F Harrison Barnes
This deal finds the Sacramento Kings opting for Bobby Portis over Pat Connaughton. In either event, they’re receiving Grayson Allen for Harrison Barnes.
Whether they prefer this exchange may come down to whether they think Portis and Sabonis are a viable frontcourt pairing. If they think they can handle spot minutes together, Portis diversifies their frontcourt rotation as a floor-spacing big who offers a degree of rim protection.
Meanwhile, George Hill is unlikely to receive major minutes for the Kings at 36. Still, he’ll be useful as a veteran mentor for young guards Fox and Davion Mitchell. He’s also a quality insurance policy in the event of injuries.
As for the Bucks, they’re still landing the best player in this deal in Barnes. For the Kings, both of these trades are about floor balance. For the Bucks, they’re about adding a player who’ll become one of the league’s most overqualified fourth options.

If they’re looking to get back in the championship race in 2022-23, they couldn’t ask for much more than that. Barnes checks a lot of boxes and it’s hard to find a sharpshooting wing, especially one with championship experience.
