Portland Trail Blazers
Many could argue that the Portland Trail Blazers shouldn’t target Caris LeVert. Those same people who probably suggest that they ought to trade Damian Lillard and rebuild this summer.
There’s merit in that position. By all accounts, it doesn’t appear to be one that’s shared by this team’s front office. If their intention is to retool around Lillard and attempt to contend in 2022-23, LeVert would be a solid acquisition.
He won’t get them there alone. The Blazers would have to make additional moves if they’re serious about making a deep playoff run. On the other hand, they may have the ammunition to do it.
Suppose, hypothetically, the Blazers trade the 7th overall pick in the upcoming draft for Jerami Grant. With the addition of LeVert, they may be a smaller free agent or two away from fielding the best team they’ve had in the Lillard era.

If the Portland Trail Blazers do decide to pivot into a rebuild, none of this makes sense. On the other hand, if they’ve got an eye on the Larry O’Brien trophy, Caris LeVert could be one of the pieces that helps make that dream a reality.
