In case you haven’t heard, Luka Doncic is good. In fact, historically good. The 23-year-old is a strong candidate to win multiple MVP awards throughout his NBA career.

He’ll still need help. Every superstar in NBA history has. Jalen Brunson and Spencer Dinwiddie are both quality NBA playmakers, but neither qualifies as a certified co-star for Doncic on the Dallas Mavericks.

In fairness, neither does LeVert. This acquisition would have the Mavericks taking a “power in numbers” approach. If they landed LeVert, they’d suddenly be stacked with players who can create shots for themselves and others.

They’d still only have one who did so at an elite level. Surely, the Dallas Mavericks would rather pair Doncic with Zach LaVine, Donovan Mitchell, or one of the other superstars who’s rumored to be available this summer.
