Atlanta Hawks Receive: No. 4 Pick, F Harrison Barnes
Sacramento Kings Receive: No. 16 Pick, No. 44 Pick, F/C John Collins

This trade was put together over at Bleacher Report by Zach Buckley. He made a mock draft that included three trades that would shake up the lottery. This trade between the Atlanta Hawks and Sacramento Kings involved the highest pick being traded.

Looking to shake up their roster, the Hawks make a huge jump up the board. General manager Travis Schlenk has let it be known that they are open for business as the Hawks went from the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021 to the NBA Play-In Tournament and a gentleman’s sweep at the hands of the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2022 NBA Postseason.

In addition to the fourth overall pick, Atlanta picks up a plug-and-play forward in Harrison Barnes. He will help upgrade the team’s defense, providing another versatile option alongside De’Andre Hunter and Kevin Huerter.

Heading out west is John Collins, who signed a five-year, $125 million deal in restricted free agency in 2021. It seemed unlikely he would spend the entirety of that contract in Atlanta, as his role in the offense has shrunk multiple seasons in a row.

He will be part of a new-look frontcourt along with Domantas Sabonis in Sacramento. The 16th pick gives the Kings a chance to add another solid player to the mix, while the 44th pick is another asset to improve the team.

How does this trade impact each team? Let’s take a look at it from both of their perspectives, starting with the Hawks.
