Worst Landing Spot: Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves are a team that has been searching to fill their void at the power forward spot for a little while now. Julius Randle would seemingly help fill that void instantly, but from his perspective, this isn’t an ideal landing spot,
To land in Minnesota, the Timberwolves would likely have to part ways with D’Angelo Russell as part of the trade. Having Randle as a third option would make for an elite team. In Minnesota, however, the lack of a point guard would be detrimental.
Russell is someone the team is looking to move on from this offseason, but parting ways with him would make fitting that trio together tough. Randle has shown that he is a capable playmaker, but the focal point of this team is Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns. The more the ball is in Randle’s hands, the less it will be in theirs.
Randle’s shortcomings defensively would also make for a challenging pairing alongside Towns, who can be a sieve at times as well. That would be putting a ton of pressure on the perimeter players to lock things down, as the last line of defense would not be providing much resistance to opponents at the rim.

In NBA 2K, a trio of Edwards, Towns and Randle would be a lot of fun, as that would be an explosive inside-out offense. But, for Chris Finch, it could cause a lot of headaches. The team doesn’t need more offensive firepower, it needs more players to get after it defensively and Randle doesn’t consistently fit that mold.
