Things could look a lot different for the Utah Jazz during the 2022-23 NBA season. Their roster needs a shakeup and it very well may occur this offseason.
The Jazz has done very well in the regular season the last few years, but that success has not carried over to the postseason. They have suffered some excruciating defeats along the way, losing in consecutive years to a team playing without their best player. In 2021 it was to the LA Clippers when Kawhi Leonard was hurt and in 2022 they fell in a 2-1 hole despite the Dallas Mavericks not having Luka Doncic.
A lot of the chatter involving Utah revolves around their two All-Stars, Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. If they are going to make a splash, it will be one of those two on the way out of town.
Over at The Salt Lake Tribune, Eric Walden put together a trade idea for the Utah Jazz with every team in the NBA. The one with the Miami Heat catches the eye, as they are the team lost linked to acquiring Mitchell.
The hypothetical trade with the Miami Heat would certainly garner a ton of attention. Walden suggested that Mitchell would go to South Beach in exchange for Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, Max Strus, P.J. Tucker, Omer Yurtseven and first-round draft picks in 2022, 2024 and 2027.

That is quite a haul for the Utah Jazz to receive in exchange for Donovan Mitchell. While they likely don’t want to trade him, an offer like that would be difficult to turn down. The Jazz would be receiving multiple players to fill out their rotation with, filling some of the biggest gaps on the roster.
Tucker is the ultimate swiss army knife, providing them with the versatility to play small when needed. Strus provides another 3-and-D option in the backcourt, while Herro is the reigning Sixth Man of the Year winner. Robinson has shown he can be an elite 3-point shooter as well.

The three first-round picks could prove very valuable as well. This is a Heat team built to win now, so those future draft selections could be very high in the order depending on when this current core slowed down.
For the Miami Heat, this trade would cripple their depth. It is hard to imagine them parting ways with that many rotation players and all of their draft capital for anyone outside of a transcendent superstar that is in the MVP running year in and year out.
