Making the Case: Utah Jazz
The Utah Jazz are approaching a crossroad and will have to make a decision this offseason. Is this certain yet? Rudy Gobert basically said that one of the two stars will have to be traded.
After a claim like this, it would not be surprising to see Gobert be the one on the move, but Donovan Mitchell might bring back the largest trade return. In his third year in the league, Tyler Herro has looked like the real deal and would shoulder a larger role with the Jazz.
Herro was clearly the best player off the bench this season and would be a starter on many teams throughout the league. The depth of the Heat has kept him on the bench but this has not slowed down his progress.
In Utah, Herro would step in as the shooting guard while Conley moved over the run the offense. This is a role that he played in years with the Memphis Grizzlies. He decided to remain in Utah t play next to Donovan Mitchell. Here, the deal would benefit Utah as they would not have to find a replacement point guard.
