2. Zach LaVine

Coming into the 2021-22 season, it seemed like there was no doubt that the Chicago Bulls would be re-signing Zach LaVine. The front office had done an excellent job upgrading the roster around him, as they added Nikola Vucevic, Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan, and Alex Caruso within the span of a few months.

The additions paid off as the Bulls qualified for the postseason. Things didn’t go well in the playoffs, as the Bulls were handled easily by the Milwaukee Bucks, but injuries were a big reason for their struggles.

Returning and seeing what the team can do at full strength is something many assumed would happen. However, it sounds like there is a real chance that LaVine leaves now in free agency and part of the reason is because of the additions that were made.

DeRozan emerging as the team’s go-to player at the end of games relegated Zach LaVine to a complementary role watching from the corner. It is something that has LaVine looking elsewhere as a result.

The Heat would be an excellent landing spot for LaVine if he is interested in going somewhere else. He could take over the role as their go-to scoring option, helping take some pressure off of Jimmy Butler, who is often the only shot creator on the floor.

Another player with shortcomings defensively, if there is a team that can help overcome that, it is the Heat. Looking to bolster their offense attack, Zach LaVine makes for a great target for Miami.
