Jonathan Isaac
Jonathan Isaac’s NBA journey has not been an easy one. At 24, he still has the potential to make it a fruitful one.
On the court, there are no questions about his value. Isaac looks like a walking Defensive Player of the Year candidate. At 6’11, Isaac has the length to function as a primary rim protector and the lateral mobility to cover the perimeter.
Unfortunately, injuries have kept him sidelined far too often. Furthermore, rumors suggest that he’s had difficulty relating to his teammates. He may be due for a new address.
Compounding the issue, the Magic just landed the number one pick in the NBA draft. Most expect them to choose between Chet Holmgren and Jabari Smith Jr. The former makes for an intriguing fit with Isaac, but could also render him expendable. The latter would make him entirely redundant.
