Making the Case: Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings should be thanking the New York Knicks for taking away the title of the worst franchise in the NBA. This is a team that has not made the postseason in 16 years and is unable to find any stability.
The Kings showed a pulse by acquiring Sabonis and moving some veteran pieces at the trade deadline. There are still some contracts in the locker room that could be moved to clear up space.
Harrison Barnes comes to mind immediately as a veteran who could be on the move. The Kings could also take Holmes, and his three years, and look for a suitor. If a young player like Horton-Tucker is the return, this seems like a win for the Kings.
Horton-Tucker has not been able to develop in Los Angeles fully. He has made some strides but would improve on a team like the Kings where he could take on a bit of an extended role.

Sacramento should be looking for depth and explosiveness on both ends of the floor around Fox and Sabonis. This low-level move could land an intriguing young player with a high ceiling in Sacramento.
