Indiana Pacers Receive: G Mike Conley, 2027 First-Round Pick
Utah Jazz Receive: G Malcolm Brogdon
If the Utah Jazz do not intend to part with Donovan Mitchell in the offseason, it would make sense for them to get a bigger backcourt partner to play alongside him.
Given that Mitchell stands at just 6-foot-1, there are limitations when a smaller guard like Mike Conley is also on the court. The Dallas Mavericks took full advantage of this in the playoffs.
Brogdon, who stands at 6-foot-5, would bring size and strength to the backcourt. He is more aggressive getting to the rim than Conley and is quite effective guarding bigger wings — something that Conley clearly was exploited in not
The Jazz would be moving on from Conley and would need to entice the Pacers not only to take on his contract but to part with Brogdon, too. That may sound strange given Brogdon’s injury history, but there’s no reason just to dump Brogdon without it being worthwhile.

Brogdon is set to enter the final year of his four-year, $85 million contract and would be traded before his two-year, $45 million extension kicks in. The Jazz would land him at a fair value and given he’s signed through 2025, there’d be no concern about a departure.
Let’s look closer at the case for this NBA trade scenario for both the Indiana Pacers and Utah Jazz.
