The Indiana Pacers are entering what will be a very important offseason. They are a team in transition, as they embarked on the first step of the rebuild process ahead of the 2022 NBA trade deadline, beginning the teardown process.
Caris LeVert and Domantas Sabonis were the biggest names on the move as Indiana received draft compensation and new building blocks. This is now Tyrese Haliburton’s team, as he was shockingly made available in trade talks with the Sacramento Kings and acquired in the Sabonis deal.
More trades could be on the horizon for Indiana. There are a few more veterans that are garnering interest in Myles Turner, Malcolm Brogdon, and Buddy Hield. Acquiring more draft compensation and talent is the No. 1 goal for the Indiana Pacers, as they will move anyone if they get back assets they think highly about.
Turner was someone that looked like a sure bet to be fired before he injured his foot and missed the final 39 games of the regular season. Brogdon wasn’t allowed to be traded as he signed an extension before the season began, but his market could pick up this offseason.

In a Pacers mailbag over at The Athletic, a paid subscription publication, Bob Kravitz answered a lot of questions about trade rumors swirling around the team. Malcolm Brogdon was one of the players mentioned, and according to Kravitz, Brogdon is a goner assuming they can get anything for him.
What will Indiana be looking for in return for him? It is hard to pinpoint as Malcolm Brogdon is an excellent player on the court, providing borderline All-Star production as a two-way player. Unfortunately, he just cannot stay on the court, as he has played in 54, 56 and 36 games in three seasons with the Pacers.

Turning 30-years old in December, it is hard to imagine his durability improving as he enters the back half of his prime. But, given his versatility and skill set, Indiana isn’t just going to give him away for free despite the injury red flags.
That will knock his price down a little bit, but he should still be able to net the Indiana Pacers a solid return package. There are several teams that could be in the market for a point guard this season, with the New York Knicks likely atop that list.

The Washington Wizards are another team that will be in the market for a point guard and people will continually mention the Los Angeles Lakers despite how little sense it makes for Indiana to bring in Russell Westbrook.
