New York Knicks
It’s hard to say whether the New York Knicks will be buying or selling this summer. After failing to qualify for the play-in tournament, they could operate as a rebuilding team.
Then again, the Knicks were successful in 2020-21. They could treat last year as an aberration, and re-tool to compete again next season.
In either case, they need a point guard.
Derrick Rose remains a solid contributor, but at 33, he’s probably best utilized as a backup at this stage in his career as the Knicks already have done. Alec Burks is a quality player, but let’s be honest: he’s never been a point guard. Kemba Walker is clearly not the solution.

Coby White could be. As a soon-to-be fourth-year pro, he suits the Knicks whether they’re competing or rebuilding. They could gamble on him to take a leap this year, or within the next two. He fills a position of need in either case.
Acquiring him would be a win-win proposition for the Knicks organization.
