Houston Rockets Receive: G Seth Curry, G Cam Thomas, F Day’Ron Sharpe
Brooklyn Nets Receive: C Christian Wood
In the last trade, the Brooklyn Nets traded Joe Harris because they already rostered Seth Curry. They employ the opposite logic here.
Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets decide they’ve had enough of draft picks. They’re adding young players with some NBA experience instead. Albeit, both of the incoming players they’re actually interested in here are merely soon-to-be sophomores.
They’re still quality young pieces for a rebuild. Cam Thomas highlights the return. He flashed tremendous potential as an isolation scorer last season. It feels fair to say that he’ll likely at least contend for Sixth Man of the Year awards in his career, and his ceiling extends much higher.
As for Sharpe, he won’t step on Sengun’s toes as Claxton would. He’d be serving as his backup. Still, he’s got upside as a bruising big man who can score inside and defend the paint.
