Bradley Beal
What do you get when you pair one of the best on-ball playmakers in the NBA with one of the best off-ball scorers? In all likelihood, one of the best backcourts in the Association.
Bradley Beal didn’t have a great 2021-22 season. His scoring slipped from a league-leading 31.3 points per game the year prior to 23.2. Injuries held him to 40 games, and his Wizards missed the playoffs altogether.
He’d still be a great running mate for LaMelo Ball. Firstly, Bradley Beal wouldn’t have to average 30+ points a night alongside Ball. He’d be the second option: that 23.2 points per game average would be ample. Secondly, we don’t know how Ball would look alongside a dynamic floor general like Ball.
Granted, he spent his first several seasons sharing the floor with John Wall. He just wasn’t in his prime yet. Seeing a fully realized version of Beal as one-half of an elite backcourt should tantalize NBA fans everywhere.

It should tantalize the Hornets even more. If Bradley Beal finds himself on the open market this summer, they should pounce at the first opportunity to land him.
