Making the Case: Phoenix Suns

Deandre Ayton is certainly one of the reasons why the Phoenix Suns have climbed to the top of the league. With that being said, he is not the most important piece on the team, which means the Suns to be able to stay near the top of the league if he is dealt.

Paul is looking like one of the best point guards in the league while Devin Booker is an elite scorer. Bridges signed a four-year extension last offseason and the Suns are the ultimate win-now team. If they do not bring it home this year, there could be some changes.

While they might not be big ones, Ayton could be part of it and highlight the offseason. It is likely that the two sides will want to get a deal done in the offseason but nothing is guaranteed. It is a bit telling that they could not get it done last time around. 

Poeltl has just one year left on his deal, which means he could be looking for an extension of his own. He would not require the money that Ayton will given his age and overall skillet. With that being said, Poeltl has shown that he is a starting-caliber center that can produce with a strong backcourt.
