Making the Case: Utah Jazz
On paper, this might not be the direction the Utah Jazz want to go but at some point, a team has to make the difficult decision.
After years of underachieving in the playoffs, no one would blame Utah if they decided to blow it up. With that being said, many would assume that it would be Rudy Gobert as the one in a trade because of the nature of the NBA. If this is not the case, Utah will get plenty in return for Donovan Mitchell.
Malcolm Brogdon has been a player in NBA trade rumors for quite some time now. While he’s not the dynamic star Donovan Mitchell is, he is a steady option to run an offense and can thrive both with the ball and when playing off the ball.
Again, the most appealing part of this return is getting both stopgap options as well as some upside in the form of Chris Duarte and draft capital. In a larger role, Duarte could perhaps tap into some star potential that many feel he has.

The relationship between Mitchell and Gobert has been rocky this could be another reason that there is a deal coming soon. If Mitchell is moved, there will be plenty of interest and the Jazz will just have to find the deal that suits them the best.
