Good Fit: Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks, victims of their own first-round exit at the hands of the Miami Heat, would be a great fit for Rudy Gobert.
The Hawks have Trae Young – an offense all to himself – why not add one of the best defensive players in the league?
Atlanta already starts center Clint Capela, who has a similar playstyle to Rudy Gobert. Capela’s partnership works well with Young.
On offense, he can wreak havoc as a roll-man, catching lobs or offensive rebounds for easy put-backs. Rudy Gobert would slide easily into that roll, and with his unique size and wingspan could even be an upgrade in that department from Capela.

On defense, Gobert would be a dominant presence inside for the Hawks, again usurping the role held by Clint Capela. The Hawks had the fifth-worst defensive rating in the NBA this season, a number that would no doubt improve with Gobert.
A deal for Gobert would be expensive, so the Hawks may have to move Capela, John Collins, and potentially draft capital to make it work. It could be worth it though, as Gobert could be the player to get Atlanta through to the Finals.
