3. Richaun Holmes
The Sacramento Kings shook up their roster in a big way ahead of the trade deadline, acquiring Domantas Sabonis from the Indiana Pacers. Upon his arrival, he took over as the team’s starting center, pushing Richaun Holmes to the second unit.
Holmes had signed a four-year contract worth just over $46.5 million last offseason, but he no longer seems to be a part of the team’s plans. He would be an excellent backup center, but he is likely looking for a starting role.
The Charlotte Hornets could provide him with what he is looking for should the Kings be open to trading him. Needing some help on the wings, there is a deal to be made between Sacramento and Charlotte.
Kelly Oubre Jr. could be used as the centerpiece of a deal, or the Hornets could look to expand things by including Gordon Hayward, which would require more pieces being involved because of the size of his contract.

Whatever the framework of the deal is, Holmes is someone that the Hornets should be looking into acquiring. It shouldn’t be overly expensive since the Kings brought in Sabonis to be their starter.
Holmes is an efficient scorer and would provide a presence in the middle with his rebounding. He is a decent rim protector as well, giving the Hornets a nice upgrade at the center spot.
