2. Damian Lillard
If the New York Knicks only do one thing this offseason, it should be finding a starting point guard. It has been an issue for years, as the last time they had the same player starting at the position on opening night was Chris Duhon when Mike D’Antoni was head coach.
It would be a major disappointment if Kemba Walker or Derrick Rose are the starting point guard on opening night as it means that they were unable to get the job done in the offseason. If they are going to aim high, they should make a call to the Portland Trail Blazers.
Portland made some major changes ahead of the trade deadline, moving on from multiple veterans. They plan to rebuild the team around Damian Lillard and they will have the money and assets to try and do so.
But, if Damian Lillard decides he wants a change of scenery because he doesn’t like the direction things are going, New York could be near the top of his wish list. The feeling would be mutual, as the Knicks would assuredly love to have him.

Damian Lillard is exactly what the Knicks are looking for. He would provide the team with a go-to scorer, something they desperately need. Too often this season, New York would crumble late in games as their offense was unable to get going. That would change with Lillard running the show as he is a bonafide scorer.
