Mikal Bridges
Depending on your definition, Mikal Bridges may not qualify as a star. If he doesn’t, we recommend changing your definition.
Granted, Bridges doesn’t fill up the scoreboard. He doesn’t need to. Various on/off metrics painted him as the most valuable defender on a Suns team with the third-best Defensive Rating in the NBA. His suffocating perimeter defense makes him an easy fit on any NBA roster.
His three-point shooting is an asset as well. Admittedly, accuracy did take a significant dip in 2021-22, slipping from 42.5% the year before to 36.9%. That’s still a solid mark for one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA.
We don’t need to justify Bridges’ fit with this roster. Again, his game is portable enough to fit with any NBA team. He’s a perfect complement to any superstar in this league.
