1. Anthony Edwards
The Minnesota Timberwolves look like they are back. Anyone who got on them for celebrating the way they did after defeating the LA Clippers in the first round of the NBA Play-In Tournament doesn’t like fun, as the youthful Timberwolves have never experienced this and as a whole, the organization has found very little success in the last two decades.
One of the reasons that the Timberwolves are in the position that they are is because of Anthony Edwards. The second-year wing is primed for a breakout as there isn’t any basketball stage that is too bright for him.
With Karl-Anthony Towns struggling through foul trouble, it was Edwards leading the way with D’Angelo Russell to put Los Angeles away. Edwards scored a team-high 30 points, including five made 3-pointers, en route to the victory.
Confidence certainly isn’t lacking for Edwards, who remained aggressive but didn’t lose his composure against the Clippers. The game was physical, which can sometimes throw a young player off of their game, but Edwards was unphased.
