2. Tyrese Maxey

There has been a lot of attention given to the Philadelphia 76ers heading into the postseason and rightfully so. They made a huge trade ahead of the deadline to put them in a position to win a championship, acquiring James Harden from the Brooklyn Nets.

Philadelphia now has two incredible offensive talents in Harden and Joel Embiid who will be at the top of the opponent’s game plan every night. Right below them on that list should be Tyrese Maxey.

Maxey had an impressive second season in the NBA. He was tabbed as the starting point guard in replace of Ben Simmons when he didn’t report to the team despite never playing point guard in his life. He handled the transition well but had to adjust to a new role once Harden was acquired.

Many questioned how he would adapt to the role, but it was a natural move for Maxey. He was back in his regular position off the ball, focusing on scoring and being a secondary facilitator. It came naturally as that is a role he played his entire basketball career.

Maxey will have ample opportunities to showcase his talent and help the 76ers win. The Toronto Raptors, their first-round matchup, will do everything in their power to keep Harden and Embiid from beating them. That will mean others have to step up, which could lead to a breakout performance from Maxey.
