DeMar DeRozan Will Not Be Denied
For all my concerns with the Chicago Bulls heading into this series – DeMar DeRozan is not one of them.
DeRozan averaged a career-high 27.9 points to go along with 4.9 assists in his first season in Chicago. His All-Star year had countless spectacular moments – including back-to-back games over New Years when DeRozan hit consecutive buzzer-beater game-winning threes.
MVP buzz began to circulate around DeRozan early in the season, and though that has all but faded, DeRozan still represents the Bulls’ most dangerous player heading into the playoffs.
DeRozan averaged over 30 points per game against the Milwaukee Bucks this season, and as his playoff minutes and usage will no doubt arise, he may be set up to score even more this postseason.

The veteran guard has a preferable match-up when it comes to the Bucks’ preferred “drop” pick-and-roll coverage scheme, where Brook Lopez stays closer to the rim to protect against the roller. DeRozan is a lethal mid-range shooter and can take advantage of Lopez’s positioning with frequent pull-up jump shots.
DeMar DeRozan is a fantastic scorer and an experienced playoff veteran (he has 58 playoff games played on his resume), and I expect him to have continued scoring success this postseason.
