NBA Analysis Network

The NBA’s decision to use a Play-In Tournament to decide the seventh and eighth seeds for each conference in the playoffs is something that some players were opposed to. But, for the fans that can never get enough basketball, this tournament is a great idea.

This year, we will be getting some excellent matchups in the NBA Play-In Tournament. In the Eastern Conference, every participant finished with a winning record.

In the 7 vs. 8 matchup, the Brooklyn Nets are hosting the Cleveland Cavaliers, as they finished as the higher seed based on a tiebreaker with each team winning 44 games. The same could be said about the 9 vs. 10 matchup, as the Atlanta Hawks will be hosting the Charlotte Hornets based on a tiebreaker as both teams won 43 games.

Out in the Western Conference, the records weren’t as appealing throughout, but the matchups are intriguing nonetheless. The 46-36 Minnesota Timberwolves are hosting the 42-40 LA Clippers in the 7 vs. 8 game, while the 36-46 New Orleans Pelicans are hosting the 34-48 San Antonio Spurs in the 9 vs. 10 game.
