Indiana Pacers Receive: F Talen Horton-Tucker, G Kendrick Nunn, G Austin Reaves
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: C Myles Turner
For the Indiana Pacers to take this deal, they’d have to see something in Talen Horton-Tucker. That would make them part of an increasingly exclusive club.
Horton-Tucker’s potential has been widely recognized. Though the third-year pro is only 6’4, his 7’0 wingspan gives him an interesting physical profile. So far, he’s failed to put it to much use at the NBA level.
Horton-Tucker’s issues start with three-point shooting. He’s converting on 27.8% of his attempts throughout his first 3 NBA seasons. That’s bleak. As intriguing as his unique wingspan maybe, he’s not quite an impressive enough athlete to compensate for that type of limited shooting.
At the same time, shooting percentages change. Sometimes, they even improve. If Horton-Tucker could develop into a competent three-point shooter, he could still become a productive NBA player. The Pacers would have to like the odds of that happening to make this deal happen.

Otherwise, Austin Reaves has been a rare bright spot for the Los Angeles Lakers this year. The undrafted rookie has endeared himself to Los Angeles faithful with a unique brand of hustle and energy. Kendrick Nunn is largely here to match salaries.
