Sacramento Kings
At 29-50, the Sacramento Kings don’t look the part of a win-now team. Expecting them to operate as anything less this offseason would be a mistake.
After all, they didn’t effectively swap Tyrese Haliburton for Domantas Sabonis at this year’s trade deadline to miss the postseason (again). Granted, they haven’t exactly looked like a contender since, going just 5-10 with Sabonis in the middle.
We shouldn’t judge the early returns too harshly. This Kings team may need an offseason to finalize their core. If that’s so, Kyle Kuzma would be a strong trade candidate for them. He’s got the right combination of athleticism and defensive versatility to make up for Sabonis’ flat-footedness.
Assuming the Sacramento Kings retain Harrison Barnes, they’ll have a spacey, versatile pair of forwards to complement both De’Aaron Fox’s drive-and-dish game and Sabonis as a low post playmaking hub. Alternatively, the Kings could look to acquire Kuzma and move Barnes for value at a different position.

It’s hard to say what the Sacramento Kings might surrender for Kuzma’s services, but rookie point guard Davion Mitchell might be a start.
He fills a position of weakness if the Wizards plan to move forward with Beal, and could be a building block if they’re forced to trigger a rebuild.
