Brooklyn Nets
Sometimes in life, the rich just get richer. Whether that applies here depends on whether you consider the Brooklyn Nets wealthy or not.
Heading into this season, they were the prohibitive title favorites. At 40-38, they’re at least still favored to win the play-in tournament. Between James Harden’s departure, Kyrie Irving’s (ahem) views, and Ben Simmons’ availability, nothing has gone as planned in the borough this season.
When the Brooklyn Nets go back to the drawing board this offseason, they should pursue Kyle Kuzma if he becomes available. They’ll need floor-spacing, athletic wings to complement Ben Simmons. They’ll also need talent, period. Kuzma fits both descriptions.
Imagine trying to guard a lineup featuring Kevin Durant at center, flanked by Kuzma at the four, with Ben Simmons running point. Now, imagine Kyrie Irving is the off-guard, and Joe Harris is lining up at the 3. There is no game plan.

Pack the paint versus Simmons, and he’ll find one of the shooters you’ve left open. Kyle Kuzma’s floor-spacing and strong cutting instincts could unlock the full potential of this group.
Kyle Kuzma is a prototypical modern forward. If he finds himself on the trade block this offseason, rest assured that he’ll have more than three suitors, and the Brooklyn Nets should be among them.
