Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
Now moving forward with Tyrese Haliburton leading their backcourt, the Indiana Pacers really do not have much of an overall need for Malcolm Brogdon anymore.
They are not in contention for a playoff spot and will be lucky to be a play-in team in the Eastern Conference next year, which is why getting the most value they can for Malcolm Brogdon right now would be a smart move to make.
Already having their own first-round pick, which is projected to be a lottery pick, the Pacers could add yet another lottery-projected pick to their name. Not to mention, Indiana currently owns the Cavaliers’ 2022 first-round pick and as of right now, this pick would convey over to Indiana since it is not projected to be inside the Top-14.
Having three first-round picks within the Top-20 of the draft gives the Pacers an immediate way to jump-start their rebuild and surround Tyrese Haliburton with young, versatile prospects.
