The Sacramento Kings made a big move ahead of the NBA trade deadline, acquiring All-Star Domantas Sabonis from the Indiana Pacers. It was a costly deal, as the Kings traded away Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield and Tristan Thompson for Sabonis, Jeremy Lamb, and Justin Holiday.
The Kings were hoping that the trade would help push them closer to the postseason, but that has not been the case. Sacramento is six games out of a spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament and looks destined to set the record for longest playoff drought in league history at 16 years.
Sacramento has some more tweaks to make to the roster if they are going to make a postseason push next season. One area that they could certainly use some help is on the wing.
A way for them to fill that void would be via trade. The Kings have a pretty solid trade chip in center Richaun Holmes. Holmes is an efficient scorer, good rebounder, and solid defender but his role has been scaled back significantly since the acquisition of Sabonis.
