Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
Trading Caris LeVert, Domantas Sabonis, and others at the trade deadline, the Indiana Pacers signaled to the rest of the league that they were taking a step back.
More changes are coming in the offseason for this franchise and it would not be surprising to see Buddy Hield be a part of these changes.
Since coming to the Pacers, Buddy Hield has played much better than he did in Sacramento and most importantly, he has proven that he can be a scorer and facilitator.
This has not only increased Hield’s trade value heading into the offseason, but it has definitely raised some eyebrows in the Pacers’ front-office.

Being owed a total of $39 million through the 2023-24 season, Buddy Hield’s future is definitely up-in-the-air in Indiana, but trading him to the Dallas Mavericks in this deal would not be smart.
Josh Green and Davis Bertans do not fit in at all with what the Pacers are trying to do, which is why this trade is not worthwhile.
