The Dallas Mavericks currently find themselves 43-27, tied for the 4th best record in the Western Conference this NBA season with the Utah Jazz, but what exactly sticks out about this team other than Luka Doncic?

Do not worry, I have time to wait until you come up with an answer…

Since trading Kristaps Porzingis to the Washington Wizards at the trade deadline, the entire Mavericks’ offense has flowed through Luka Doncic with Spencer Dinwiddie and Jalen Brunson being two complimentary guards in the Mavs’ offensive attack.

Tim Hardaway Jr. is out indefinitely with a foot injury and having no other reliable offensive scorers, the Mavericks could run into a lot of trouble in the postseason yet again because of their lack of consistency.

While they are a great defensive team, ranking sixth in the league in defensive rating, the Mavericks only rank 16th in offensive rating and just 22nd in the league in three-point shooting percentage as a team.

Adding more perimeter shooting in the offseason must be a key point of emphasis for Dallas, which is why Buddy Hield should once again be on their radar in trade talks.

The Mavericks targeted Buddy Hield earlier this season ahead of the trade deadline and while he was moved to the Indiana Pacers in a six-player trade involving Tyrese Haliburton and Domantas Sabonis, Hield could once again hit the trade block in the offseason with the Pacers’ status moving forward uncertain.

Needing to find ways to improve offensively, the Dallas Mavericks would be smart to pursue Buddy Hield in trade talks this upcoming offseason, so let’s take a look at a proposal put together by Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz that sends Hield to Dallas.
