Does this trade make sense for the Portland Trail Blazers?
What the Trail Blazers decide to do in the offseason is a big mystery at this point, especially since Anfernee Simons is going to be a free agent.
Portland will almost definitely give Simons a massive long-term contract extension, but nobody really knows what to expect in terms of other moves they could make because of the instability of their front-office.
Interim GM Joe Cronin may not be the decision-maker for this organization in the offseason, so Portland really has no vision or direction that they are trending in.
What we do know about the Trail Blazers though is the fact that they want to continue building around Damian Lillard and adding a talent like Jerami Grant would definitely prove this further.

With the Western Conference taking a step back this season, Portland could very much get back in the playoff conversation with a key high-level talent like Jerami Grant on their roster next to Lillard.
This is not a bad deal for the Blazers to consider, but should New Orleans’ pick end up going to Portland, they may want to just hold onto the young talents they have and keep building a young core of the future.
