This Blazers-Lakers Trade Features Josh Hart To L.A.

Josh Hart, Los Angeles Lakers, NBA Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

This NBA offseason is going to be a big one for the Los Angeles Lakers. They have to figure out a way to get the most out of this team because they do not know how much longer they are going to have LeBron James for.

James can sign an extension with the team this offseason, but he could very well hold off depending on how the roster shapes up. If they are unable to make significant changes, James could decide to put off an extension and become a free agent in 2023.

That would be a worst-case scenario for the Lakers, whose future is about as bleak as their performance this season without James. If they want any chance of turning things around next season and becoming contenders again, they need to get James to buy in long-term.

Getting everyone on the same page again is key, as there has seemed to be some discontent building between James’s camp and the organization. All of the losses certainly play a part in that. Whoever is leading the front office this offseason needs to make changes and bring in players that will help win games.
