Does this trade make sense for the Memphis Grizzlies?
Trading Dillon Brooks may not be the best idea in the world, especially after he emerged as a two-way weapon for the Grizzlies last season.
However, they have found success on the floor without him this season, leading to speculation about how much Brooks really means to this Grizzlies team.
In the locker room, he is undoubtedly an asset for Memphis and he is one of the leaders of this young team, but extending him on a new long-term contract that could pay upwards of $18 million a year may not be what the Grizzlies have in mind long-term for Dillon Brooks.
Entering the final year of his contract, Brooks’ future in Memphis is definitely a question mark right now and how he plays the rest of this season and in the playoffs could determine what direction the Grizzlies move in.
