Almost all season long, the Miami Heat have been at the top of the Eastern Conference standings, proving that they have what it takes to make it back to the NBA Finals for the second time in three seasons.

Many tend to forget that the Heat was in the NBA Finals during the 2019-20 season, as they went on a run in the NBA Bubble to make their sixth Finals appearance.

The 2020-21 season proved to be a disappointing year for the Heat, as they dealt with injuries and numerous players being in and out of health protocols, limiting their ability to find consistency and success on the floor.

Currently 46-24, the Heat have been one of the league’s best two-way teams all year long and while Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro have all been key star assets for them, Miami has been winning games because of their depth.

Caleb Martin, Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, Dewayne Dedmond, Omer Yurtseven and other bench talents have really stepped up for the Heat, putting them in a strong position to once again contend for a title.

Win or lose this season though, team president Pat Riley will be open to making more “championship moves” for his team in the offseason, which could lead to the Heat exploring trade opportunities involving Duncan Robinson.

The Heat and Robinson agreed to a five-year, $90 million deal this past offseason, but his upside is limited given that he is only a catch-and-shoot three-point shooter and moving Duncan Robinson could be the key for the Heat to acquire another high-level, championship asset.

Should they make Duncan Robinson available, a handful of teams could show interest in the sharpshooting wing, one of those teams possibly being the Memphis Grizzlies.

In a similar spot to the Heat in terms of being led by their two-way play and depth, the Grizzlies are one of the league’s younger teams in the league, yet they currently have the second-best record in the NBA.

Ranking just 24th though in three-point shooting percentage as a team, Duncan Robinson could address a key area the Grizzlies need to improve upon in the offseason.
