Collin Sexton – Cleveland Cavaliers
*Set to become restricted free agent in offseason
It is definitely a long shot to believe that the Pistons would get involved in free agency talks with Collin Sexton this upcoming offseason, but he would be a pretty decent fit next to Cade Cunningham in the backcourt because of his athletic nature.
Since being drafted 8th overall by Cleveland in 2018, Collin Sexton has done nothing but score the ball for the Cavaliers and has been one of the best pure scorers in the league under 24-years-old.
Prior to suffering a season-ending meniscus injury this season, Sexton was averaging 16.0 points, 2.1 assists, and shooting 45% from the floor, on pace to have another stellar offensive season.
The long-term status of Collin Sexton does not appear to be in jeopardy, as many expect him to be ready to go for training camp ahead of the start of next season, but the value of his contract is a question mark right now.

Being a restricted free agent, the Cavaliers will have the chance to match any offer for Collin Sexton and who knows what kind of offers he will receive since his season was cut short due to injury.
The only free agent that the Pistons will have themselves is Marvin Bagley III and even if they did re-sign him to a new long-term contract, the Pistons would still have plenty of money to play around with in free agency before reaching the tax line.

It is not hard to believe that Detroit would be interested in giving Collin Sexton a three-year deal worth upwards of $60 million, similar to the same kind of contract they gave Jerami Grant in 2020.
Sexton has proven that he can be a versatile scorer in this league and with his ability to play off-the-ball, he would be a really strong fit offensively next to Cade Cunningham for Detroit.
