Does this trade make sense for the LA Clippers?
In no scenario does this trade make sense for the LA Clippers, even though John Wall would be a nice addition in their backcourt.
Not only did the Clippers give up some key assets to acquire Norman Powell at the trade deadline, but they envision him being their “sixth-man-like” talent on next year’s championship contending team.
The whole point of going after a player like John Wall would be for the Clippers to pair Reggie Jackson with someone else in the backcourt, yet this trade would be a swap of Jackson for Wall and then the Clippers would have to give up other key assets.
This trade makes absolutely zero sense and should the Rockets call the Clippers about this deal, Los Angeles’ front-office would hang up the phone laughing.
