The 2024 NBA Playoffs got off to the same start as the 2023 postseason did for the New York Knicks. They picked up an impressive Game 1 victory, relying on their physicality and hard-nosed defense to pick up a win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

When you face off against the Knicks, you know what you are in for. Tom Thibodeau always has his team prepared and has pillars that his teams live by. When they execute that game plan of playing defense and hitting the boards, they come out victorious.

That was the case in Game 1 as New York was able to overcome a poor performance from their starting lineup and a poor shooting night overall. Where they were able to even up the game was in the rebounding department, where they were dominant.

The Knicks outrebounded the 76ers 55-33 as they bludgeoned their opponent on the offensive glass. New York had 23 offensive rebounds in the game, while Philadelphia had only 24 defensive rounds.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Mitchell Robinson, Josh Hart, 2024 NBA Playoffs, Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks Updates

Leading the way for the Knicks was Mitchell Robinson. He continues to round into shape and made his presence felt in this one with seven offensive rebounds. Robinson totaled 12 rebounds in the game, which was second only to Josh Hart.

Hart continues to make winning plays for New York, doing whatever needs to be done to help the team. He finished the game with 13 rebounds, nine of which were of the defensive variety to close out possessions on that end of the court.

Four different players ended up recording at least four offensive rebounds for the Knicks. Jalen Brunson and Isaiah Hartenstein got in on the party along with Robinson and Hart for one of the most dominant rebounding performances you will see in the NBA Playoffs.

This is part of what makes the Knicks such a dangerous team. Even when their star in Bruson has an off night, they were able to pick up a win as the other guys stepped up. They have a true and tried formula to find success and it resulted in another win on Saturday night.
