Does this trade make sense for the Houston Rockets?
As much as they want to trade John Wall for value, this trade ultimately does not make much sense for the Rocket either.
Sure, Reggie Jackson, Marcus Morris Sr. and Norman Powell are all strong talents that could help Houston, but the Rockets have no reason and no desire to add veteran players to their roster at the moment.
Cap-wise, they would be tied down to even more money than that of John Wall’s contract long-term and having cap space gives the Rockets flexibility, something they will need moving forward.
They could essentially take this deal in order to just move Wall for value, as mentioned before, but the Rockets really have nothing to gain by making any trade with the LA Clippers.

Los Angeles has no draft assets or young assets that would be of interest to the Rockets, which is why this trade makes as much sense as the Bucks looking to trade Giannis Antetokounmpo or the Nuggets looking to trade Nikola Jokic.
The only way John Wall ends up being on the Clippers is if he is bought out of his contract, which looks very unlikely to happen heading into the offseason.
