Detroit Pistons Receive: G Coby White, F Patrick Williams
Jerami Grant has quickly turned himself into a two-way weapon on the wing for the Pistons, hence all of the trade interest in him leading up to the trade deadline this season.
While he has been great for them, Jerami Grant is going to be entering the final year of his three-year contract with Detroit and while his value is at an all-time high, it may make the most sense for the Pistons to trade him right now.
The Pistons currently find themselves in the midst of a rebuild and GM Troy Weaver has done an excellent job of assembling a roster of versatile, young talents.
Led by first overall pick Cade Cunningham, Detroit already has a solid group of young core pieces intact and adding on to their young group by trading Grant could be very advantageous to this team’s rebuild.

Both Coby White and Patrick Williams could fill immediate needs for the Pistons and give them two former first-round picks still on their rookie deals.
As for Chicago, giving up both White and Williams was something they were unwilling to do at the trade deadline this season, but things could change in the offseason with Coby White set to enter the final year of his rookie contract.
There are questions as to if the Bulls will look to extend him long-term and while White has played well this season, they may not have room for him at full-strength with Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso and now rookie Ayo Dosunmu in the backcourt.

Patrick Williams has been a solid perimeter defender for the Bulls out on the wing, but they can get more out of Jerami Grant and he could very well end up being the missing piece in the Bulls’ championship puzzle.
Taking risks like this trade in the offseason could very well make or break the Bulls’ championship chances moving forward.
