Does this trade make sense for the Boston Celtics?
Al Horford has been instrumental in the Celtics’ success this season and he himself has been having a decent year, but he is not a long-term asset for the Celtics.
At 35-years-old and getting ready to enter the final year of his contract, a year in which he will make $26.5 million, the Celtics would be very smart to try and move Horford if they can.
Almost no team in the league will be wanting to trade for Al Horford at this kind of price, likely why this trade would never gain consideration from the Indiana Pacers.
If it is on the table though and Indiana is interested, Boston should not hesitate to pull the trigger on this deal.

Buddy Hield would fit in perfectly as a secondary offensive scoring threat in Boston and this team desperately needs to add shooting depth around their two All-Stars in Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
While Hield’s contract is through the 2023-24 season, Boston would be lucky to get a player of his talents for Al Horford in the offseason.
