Oklahoma City Thunder
GM Sam Presti is one of the best executives in the entire NBA and with 35 total draft picks over the next several years, the Thunder are expected to be very aggressive as they look to build around their young core.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey, Tre Mann, Luguentz Dort, Darius Bazley, and others have proven themselves as young talents the Thunder can build with moving forward, and addressing their frontcourt in the offseason is the next step in this team’s evolution.
Derrick Favors and Mike Muscala are both veterans that could be moved in trade talks this upcoming offseason and there are question marks pertaining to Isaiah Roby’s long-term future with the Thunder.
Adding a big man via the draft, free agency, or via trade is essential for the Thunder, which is why Richaun Holmes could wind up being a good fit for them.
LATEST NBA NEWS & RUMORS: 3 Offseason Moves For Sacramento Kings To Consider
At 28-years-old, Richaun Holmes is young enough for the Thunder to show a level of interest and he was a rebounding machine last year. During the 2020-21 season, Holmes recorded career-highs in scoring, rebounding, blocks and field goals made per game.
While his numbers have declined this season in Sacramento, this is simply because of their abundance of frontcourt talents and Holmes’ minutes declining.
When on the floor, Richaun Holmes can still be an explosive center on both ends of the floor and with the Thunder, he could be the perfect blend of a rebounding and pick-and-roll force at the center position.
