2. Awkward Fit In Philadelphia
The Philadelphia 76ers are going to spend the remainder of the regular season building chemistry for what they are hoping is a deep run into the postseason. If they are going to make another change at the end of the bench, it should be to bring in something they currently don’t have.
Andre Drummond was an elite rebounder and could clean up things around the basket offensively. DeAndre Jordan no longer brings an impact like that. If that was what they were seeking, the 76ers should have pursued Tristan Thompson.
Instead of adding a veteran that isn’t likely to help them to the end of the bench, the 76ers should be looking to diversify their roster. If they are intent on adding a big man, finding one that brings a different skill set to the table would make sense.
A floor-spacing big man is something the 76ers do not have when Joel Embiid is on the bench. If they want someone that can bang in the interior, they would be better off waiting for someone such as Robin Lopez to potentially hit the buyout market before signing Jordan.
